Shooting my Zara advertorial.
On the 13th of March I shot my Zara advertorial for their 'Join Life' SS17 range. I had the studio at uni booked out from 6pm-9pm as there were only 6 outfits and I had one makeup and hair look planned for all outfits so that it didn't require time to change hair and makeup between outfits. Me and my model arrived at the studio at 5.30 to ensure I had enough time to put the hair into a sleek low ponytail and apply a natural, flawless makeup look to my model before the photographer arrived. My photographer was supposed to be at the studio to set up at 6 but ended up running late after work and didn't get to the studio till 6.45. Although this was annoying as I felt bad for my model having to wait around, I wasn't worried because I knew that it wouldn't take two hours to get all the images I needed and apart from the studio set up, my model was ready to go. My photographer set up the studio quite quickly with the lighting she suggested we used when I showed her my image inspiration imagery however we came across another problem that nearly ended up in us having to reschedule the shoot for another day. The photographer realised after setting up the studio that she had left her sync lead at home, and the hatch at uni was closed so there was nowhere else we could borrow one from. We were also the only people in the studio that evening so there wasn't the option of borrowing one from someone else. I began to panic as I had already found it hard to find a slot where me, the model and photographer were free and really wanted to get my first photoshoot out the way without problems. As there was nothing else we could do my photographer began putting away the lighting and packing away for us to leave when I remembered something I learn't in a photography lesson in first year. On the lighting there is a button called 'cell' which automatically sets the light off when it detects the flash on the camera. I asked the photographer if we could try this out and was so relieved when it worked. The rest of the photo shoot ran smoothly and we completed it in just over an hour. Here are some images I took on my phone whilst shooting:
