Interview & editorial with Anna Randall

A creative I know in London has a collectic wardrobe made up with a large collection of vintage and second hand clothes and accessories bought exclusively from charity shops around the Notting Hill Gate area of West London. Anna Randall's style is bizarre to some and quite random, often looking like she has appeared in 2017 from the early 2000's. She began her collection when she moved to the upper-class area of London 7 years ago and discovered the charity shops there were goldmines, full of rare, designer pieces for a small fraction of what they would have been originally, thrown away by the wealthy residents of the area. She also shops a lot on ebay, typing in a designer name and the key word of a product she wishes to find then clicks on the option of 'lowest price' to find the cheapest things and admittedly things she believes no one else would wear. I wanted to do an interview on her ethical method of shopping as I think it sits well with the ethos of my magazine, encouraging people to recycle clothing and look for more individual pieces of clothing in charity shops and on second hand websites. I have also wanted to go through her wardrobes for quite some time and I am going to do this and put together outfits I think will work perfectly for an editorial shoot to go alongside the interview. For this photo shoot I am going to borrow a camera from a friend and go to London and photograph the outfits I have picked out myself. The location will be the picturesque traditional London street she lives on in Notting Hill as the houses around there are beautiful five level white Victorian houses which will set a great contrast against her colourful wardrobe.
