Festival inspired makeup editorial at the Festival of Colour.
From the 10th-17th April there is a colour festival at the new Westquay Watermark complex. For the festival the area has been decorated with rainbow coloured steps, painted walls, decorations on railings, people dressed in flower costumes and a fun fair has popped up for the week. This will be a perfect location to shoot my festival season inspired beauty editorial. For the photo shoot I am going to ask my photographer to use a glass prism in front of the lense to distort the images and to create something really unique. I want to try and create a rainbow across the models face using the right sun light and the prism. I am aiming to do around 4 looks using a lot of colour.
Idea 1:
I want to paint rainbow freckles onto my models face to create a fun festival twist on the faux freckle trend. Here is an inspiration image I found on Pinterest of someone with coloured freckles drawn on:
Idea 2:
I want to create an abstract, rainbow inspired eye look for the second look. Here is my inspiration which I found on Pinterest:
Idea 3:
I really love the glossy eyelid trend at the moment and want to create a look using this trend for the festival shoot. I want to use a pastel shade such as a baby pink, blue or lilac for this image. As this is a festival inspired shoot I need to make this look more exciting than just a glossy pastel shade eye look. I am thinking of painting glitter tears onto the cheeks of my model. These are my inspiration images from Pinterest for this look:
Idea 4:
I want to cover the underneath of my models eyes with little confetti sequins to 'cover the bags', I think this look is a really fun and festival appropriate look. Here is my inspiration sourced from Pinterest:
Hair:
I am going to keep my models hair the same for all four makeup looks. She has a short bob in a pastel peach colour. I am going to slick her hair back using wet-look styling gel and then add confetti or glitter to her roots. This is my models hair:
