Festival makeup shoot

My festival beauty editorial took place on the 13th of May. My model was arriving to Southampton from London at 12.30pm and the photographer was at the location from 12 shooting someone elses photo shoot so we had to be sure not to make her wait around for two long. The same day I had work from 6am-12pm so I had to take a suitcase with clothing and my kit with me to work meaning I had to be very organised. As the hair was going to need to be prepared in advance the model and I rushed to uni upon her arrival to get the hair done as the location didn't have anywhere appropriate for doing this. By the time the hair was styled and the first makeup look was completed it was 1.30pm so I had to get a taxi for my model and I to get to the location quickly. The weather was on our side with the sun shining and a dry location, as we were shooting outside I was relying on this to be the case. We got the first look photographed very quickly and I had to change the makeup on a empty wall in the area we were shooting in. Luckily I had prepared for the outside makeup changes, equipped with makeup wipes, cotton buds and a large case with clean makeup brushes to enable me to work quickly and as professionally as possible. As the photographer was doing another shoot for someone else at the same time as mine she was able to alternate between who she was photographing; while I was doing the makeup she would photograph for the other photo shoot, and when I was ready she would take my pictures and vice versa. Using the glass prism working amazingly as she was able to take really abstract images that didn't distract from the makeup. The location was filled with so many different colours and textures for the festival that we had so much choice when it came to back drops for the images. I was initially stressed about doing this photo shoot as I had work really early that day so I was worried that I would leave something at home in the morning, this made me extra organised and I planned and packed everything the afternoon before. I was also worried because I had been doing a lot of styling shoots which in my opinion are a lot less stressful as I just need to remember to take the clothes and accessories and a makeup and hair kit for a simple look. Makeup looks take time and as the shoot was in an outdoor location without a proper makeup table and mirror I was worried it would take too long or not come out how I had planned. This gave me a taste of what it would be like to do multiple makeup looks on location in the industry and it was a good experience. Below are some images and a video I took on the day from my phone:
