Final images from SS17 beauty editorial
On Friday the 21st April the photographer Danni sent over the images from the day before. It was very hard to sort through these images as there were 634 in total and I only needed 5 images. The images were better than I had imagined they would be and I was so happy that each look had a variety of different angles and poses so that I could choose which suited each makeup look best. For the ear makeup look with the red liner I chose 2 images as I wanted to show off different aspects of the look. For the blue eye look I chose a landscape image as I loved the angle Danni took the photo from and I thought it would make the editorial more visually interesting to have one image across a double page spread. The yellow glossy eye and red lip look was by far the most challenging and high maintenance eye look as in between pretty much every photograph the photographer took I had to blend the eye as the gloss would make it crease. Unfortunately in the image I chose the eye is slightly creased by after editing hopefully it won't show up as much. The glossy eyelid is definable an unwearable look due to the texture and the fact that it is constantly creasing, however it is one of my favourite looks I created. All the makeup I used were from cruelty free brands and on each image I plan to have a product list for readers to be able to see what brands and makeup I used to create each look. Despite it being the most time consuming, exhausting and difficult shoot I have done so far, the results were so rewarding I wish I had more time to do another beauty editorial. One of the main reasons I believe it went to well was because I had an amazing creative team. These are the images I have sent to be retouched:
