Location hunting for Reclaimed Vintage shoot:

I went location hunting in Southampton for this photo shoot with a friend to an area called St. Mary's in search of the perfect shop location. I had searched on Google for different food stores prior to the search so that I had some places in mind. Swiftly upon arrival I realised these supermarkets were inappropriate to shoot in due to the poor lighting and overpowering smell of meat from the halal butchers located at the back of each store. As well as this there would be nowhere for the models to get changed and it would have been an uncomfortable experience for the whole team. Here are some images I took while on the location hunt of the unsuccessful locations:

After hours of walking looking for the market location I decided to use Hooch and Candy which is primarily an alcohol shop that sells imported drinks and both savoury and sweet snacks. Before I went location hunting I thought about going to Hooch and Candy but I wanted to make sure I could find the best backdrop for my shoot which is why I wanted to search out all of the options available. Hooch and Candy sells visually exciting products such as pop tarts and other American products that are mostly unavailable in the UK. The man who owns the shop was really nice and said we could shoot whenever and he had a room out the back with a toilet in for the model to get changed in. As the shop is a 5 minute walk from my house it was the best option, as well as having the right aesthetic in a clean and safe environment for the creative team to work in. Here are some images I took inside Hooch and Candy showing the interior and the products inside:
